Mission: To support the police in combating crime and the administration of justice with scientific evidence to the Court.
Objective: To support the police in combating crime, the administration of justice with scientific evidence to the Court and the support of doctors in treating poisoning incidents handled by the Emergency and Intensive Care Departments of the Cyprus Hospitals. Furthermore, the laboratory supports the Customs Services providing information and analysis of imported illegal substances.
Research Services provided:

o Official analysis of police exhibits in criminal offenses relating to Drugs of abuse (cannabis, cocaine, opiates/opioids, amphetamine type stimulants) as well as NPS (New Psychoactive Substances) e.g. fentanyls, synthetic cannabinoids, phenethylamines etc.
o Analysis of Explosives, Ignitable Liquids, Tear Gases, Gunshot Residue.
o Toxicological analysis of biological samples involving ethyl alcohol, drugs and pharmaceuticals, carbon monoxide and other toxic substances, narcotest, animal and human poisoning.

o GC/MS, GC/FID, LC/MS/MS, FT-IR, bench NMR, Electronic Microscope, LC/QTOF
